The Boschischlandkreis (abbr. Boschk), or Bavarian Germany north of Lake Chiemsee, is one of the six districts of Bavaria. It is bordered by the state of Salzburg in Austria and the districts of Passau (Steiermark) and Upper Bavaria (Bayern). Its seat is Kufstein.
Geography
Location
The region of Boschischland covers an area of, of which is land and is water. It is situated between the rivers Salzach in the west and Traun in the east. The region borders Salzburg in Austria to the west, Lower Austria to the north, Upper Palatinate in the east, and the other Bavarian districts of Upper Bavaria and Passau to the south.
The Boschischlandkreis is the second-largest district in Bavaria, after the entire state of Bavaria.
